My buddy and I are thinking of building a Dual Board PC. We are thinking of using nForce boards (probably 6 series) and 4 8500GT cards in SLI format (two cards on each board in SLI).
We have a general knowledge of DUAL MOBO computers, but we would like any tips and pointers, but especially we need to know which MoBos actually support dual board.
Also, if we put quadcores on each board, will we get a super performance enhancement from them or does dualboarding only support the peripherals from the other board (PCIe devices IDE etc.)?

I don't really see why you would use two 8500s in SLI, the performance of the cards solo is so low, that it will still be limiting even in dual graphics supporting games. You would be much better off using something like a solo 9600GT or 8800GS per board. As far as going for dual motherboards, it's not something I know much about. I wasn't aware you could string the two together into one PC, but I might be wrong - the only dual motherboard systems I've seen have been two separate PCs in the same box.

The 7800 is several times faster than the 8500 - you know that right? One 7800GT would be better than even two 8500GTs.

The 8800GTS is miles better, but make sure you get the 512MB version - the older 320MB and 640MB (yes, despite the higher number) are much slower. If the 8800GTS works out a bit too much, then the 8800GT or 9600GT are also good choices.

Or see if you can get a 4850, they are good too. Honestly the 8800GTS is not much better than the 8800Gt so if you can get a good deal of the 8800GT get that.

Sam, you remember that guy who swore he was getting 40FPS in DiRT on all high settings with his 8500GT?

Well in my computer right now i have SLIed 8500s. I'm gonna try to sell them and get an 8800.
As for the dual boarding, we found a way to bridge the boards together so that they share all of the components. Our problem is that even though they share everything, none of the software seems to notice it. When we play games, even though we have two dual cores and 4 gfx all bridged together, there is no significant increase in performance

That's because most games aren't optimised to use four graphics cards, especially not 8500s.
