hi folks,for last few days my pc has been re-booting by itself,no warning what so ever,not sure what the problem is,hoping someone can make sense of this error report and shed some light on my problem

I've done some sifting around and within the Microsoft newsgroup community found out some things that may be helpful. Several people said this could very well be a hardware issue (maybe a bad power supply), others said if your CPU fan is clogged with dust that could also be causing it and yet more people said it could be memory related and to run memory tests. Sounds like it will require some tinkering around to find out what exactly is affecting your computer. But hopefully one of these solutions may be beneficial. Let us know how you fair.
couple of days ago it started telling me the boot priority had changed,press f1 to continue,this is when things started to go wrong,then it started rebooting by itself,yesterday its started blue screening on me :@ rebooted just a min ago while writing this,i thought maybe it was overheating or summit,,today i stripped the pc down to its shell,,cleaned the lot with paintbrush and hoover lol,new heatsink compound,put it back together thinkin job was done,but was`nt to be :-(,i have tried 3 diff windows discs as well,tomoz i`m gonna try another h/d and see what happens there,,how do i run a memory test lillith ???

Your welcome. Hopefully all of the things you mentioned will solve your problem. I had to look on my other computer which is XP to see the path to the memory test and I saw it was under PC Doctor for Windows. There may be a shorter path but here it was: Start Menu>All programs>PC Help&Tools>PC Doctor. That opened the PC Doctor Diagnostics app and then under SYSTEM was the memory test. I would also suggest having your power supply tested. Bench test it or do you know somebody that has one laying around which you could borrow for testing purposes? Swapping out your hard drive sounds good too. And with that boot priority message maybe have a look at your BIOS and see whats going on in there. Very curious indeed. I want to think this is hardware related for sure. Especially if you reformatted recently and still the problem exists. Good luck and maybe one of these things will be of some help.
