Wow! It's been a while since I've been here, good to see Afterdawn thriving :) Anyways, I just fixed my broken Xbox by hotswapping. Now, I seem to have lost my action replay, so I was wondering could I just do the hotswap again, but instead of putting the clean C partition onto the disc could I just use a C that has already been softmodded? Basically install all the files that get installed by the softmod but not have to do it with an action replay. If this is possible does anyone know where I could get a C that has been softmodded?

Yup, i've been doing this for almost 2 years now and it seems to speed up the moding process without any ill effects.

Download my cheater C - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GHHFXQJI

Backup your eeprom first, then you can ftp all the contents to your C:. You can also use xplorer 360 if you hotswap.

In the rare event that it doesn't work use xbox hdm to create a new cd with this as the C and your eeprom, and you should be golden.

Let me know if you have any problems, my contact info is in my AD profile.

Ok, but in order to do that I would need to do the hotswap again right? Well would it work if I got a sata to ide converter and used that because my pc doesn't have any ide connections on it.

How did you hotswap before?

Basically you can take xplorer 360 once your drive is unlocked and throw the exploit on E: and my C folder on C:.

Though a couple people here believe it's unsafe to mess with any files in C if you don't know what you're doing. The exploit/eeprom gives you a way back into your xbox if you mess up anything.

If i were you i would hotswap an exploit to your box and then use the correct game to load the exploit.

I would transfer the exploit to E and then mod the C through ftp.

Well I did the hotswap on my parents computer because it's the only one in the house that's got an IDE port on the MOBO. It's also very messy and hard to put back together so I was thinking of getting a SATA-IDE converter so I could do it on my computer. Basically what you saying is that all I would have to do is download the exploit, then do the hotswap and put that on my E, then put everything back together and put in the correct game. After that I could use the exploit and the softmod would be complete.

Yup exactly, you could do it the old way with a memory card and a exploit loaded on it.

That's the way i've been modding xbox's for years. The hotswap method sounds like a good way to get around making jump drive card or buying action replay.

Either way it's up to you.
