I got a bit of extra cash and i wanted to get more ram for my PC.
I currently have 2 gigs of TWINX DDR2 Corsair RAM and i want to make it 4gigs. I am running Windows XP and my motherboard is Asus PK5-E. Would adding another 2 gig ram make a difference? Some of my friends tell me Windows XP Home cant utilize the 4 gigs, is that true? I just wanted to make sure before i spent money on something that might not work. Thanks.

32bit windows can only read max about 3-3.5gigs whereas 64bit windows is over 4gigs. what is yours & what do you use your pc for?

the motherboard supports 8gigs, but 32bit xp only sees 3-3.5 gigs.

it means your pc is capable of 8 gigs.

consider upgrading to a 64bit version.

Why doesn't my Windows® PC recognize the whole 4GB of memory I installed?

64bit can recognize up to 128GB of ram.

64bit xp isn't worth it. there's less support than vista x64. stick to 32bit.
