When I open Peer Guardian it downloads the newest IP updates and all that but it doesnt actually show any signs of being open. It's in the task manager using about 70mb or RAM.. But its not even in the system tray so I can open it. Then i try to open it again but it just opens another pg2 in task manager this time using 700kb of ram,
What's the problem?
Am I still protected?

I am on windows vista.

According to the makers, PG2 is not vista ready as yet. Read the INFO just under the download heading. Are you protected? you'd have to assume not, just to be sure.

You can fenagle PG2 to work with Vista, but you have to run around your elbow to get to your ass....

you have to keep on retrying pg2 to get it working. i'm using the beta on vista, and half the time it won't open properly.

keep the task manager open, and open pg2. if it shoots up to 70mb and stays, end it, and try again. it will eventually go down to a respectable size, and it will show up in the system tray.

when you update, it will occasionally freeze. you'll have to do the task manager thing until it updates and works again.

EDIT: after looking at the link LOCO provided, there is a link that goes to another thread in the phoenix lab forums, where they provide a vista loader. tried it out, and works just fine. pg2 is loading up nearly everytime i shut it down, or exit it. much better chance of it working.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to say that I'm using Vista too and had problems with the beta PG2 working so I was reading somewhere how the Windows 98\ME version somehow works with Vista. So on a whim I tried it and so far so good. I haven't had any problems updating or using. So until stable version is available I'll keep using it. Just thought I'd throw that in!
