My pc keeps rebooting by itself after removing avg 7.5 and installing avg 8

Hi.

I'm a real newbee in this field. As said in the title, my computer keeps rebooting by itself. I strongly believe that the reason is that I downloaded avg 8 from bitenova.nl and removing avg 7.5 while installing avg 8.

I'm having truble updating avg, eihter it stops d/l the update or it just beboots itself. Rebooting also happens if i starts another program, after x secounds the screen just turns black and it reboots.

what can I do to fix this?? What can I do to not make this happen in the future??

I really need your help guys... pass on the skills you have learned.. i beg of you...

Hi microeye,

Give up on AVG8, uninstall it and use => Avira AntiVir

AntiVir is a better antivirus, doesn?t use the resources that AVG does and causes less problems? IMHO
If you don?t like it, you can always change??????.

Try pressing F8 on startup and select to run in "safe mode". This may give you a chance to complete your tasks. Uninstall AVG and make sure any quarantined files are deleted. I know these programs are free but they do not do their job very well. My father used this too and still got infected.
If you have some extra bucks try nod32 anti-virus and counterspy. Very good.
