hi there,

i recently bought a hp laptop and when i first got it, when i plugged in the headphone in the external jack, the sound from my speakers was muted and he instantly switched to my headphones.

i reinstalled my sound drivers and since then it doesn't work anymore. he doesn't recognize the headphones when i plug them in and the sound doesn't switch off.

i don't know whether that's because of those drivers, my laptop or windows vista and i honestly don't know what i have to look for. any help would be greatly appreciated!
