hi, my ps2 makes weird noises everytime i start it, than when i put a game in it goes straight to the front page, even if the game is in the ps2 before i start it. than it says reading disc for about 30 seconds than goes back to the front page. the funny thing is it says rading disc whenever i closne the disc tray, even when there isn't a game in there. any help pleeease.

so it only needs 2 b re calibrated so if u man enough open it up clean ur bby a lil straighten up ur readin eye tighten up d band that open n closes d ps2 n chek for any damage hopefully after dat evrythin will be fine.
But if u prefer 2 play it safe mijo
just take it 2 any nerdy used games stores not gamestore only ur average corner game store
n hav it recalibrate there it will costs ya like 30 bucks or maybe less but theyll do wat i just told u 2 do "professionally"
n itll take em like a 3 days or so it really depends
nyways good luck have fun =)

My PS2 did the same exact thing, it's just cause we moved it around alot. My guess is open it up (voids warranty, but it's not like you have one anymore), clean out all the dust.
I followed this guide here:

Worked like a charm.

can you explain the guide you told me to go to. it says something about a white tab i don't know where that is, and it says to press on it with a screw driver, any explanations on how to do this.
