Does playing PS1 copies on the PS2 hurt the lens?

As the tittle says. I'm wondering because I really don't wanna screw up the lens and I don't feel like bringing my PS1 and PS2 on my trip.

depends really on the media onto which the ps1 game is burnt and over time yes the lens must wear out ,they best you can do is delay that
but if its a small trip its ok to take your discs ,but please dont use garbage media ,look at the cd media thread or use google to find where your own stands

It shouldn't really do any harm as 90% of ps2 games are on dvd.. which uses a totally different laser.

Try to use decent disks.. I found gigatain to be good, but the manufacturing quality varies. cd-r is an old standard.. just find a brand that loads fast and reliably and stick with them ;)
