OFficedepot will have their own Brand Of 16x DVD-R & DVD+R media onsale for $7.99 Starting on 06/29/08 which if my math has'nt left me works out to .16 cents each before taxes ! Not to shabby !!! This is NOT ATIVA !!! But Their Media which is usually either Ritek Or RicohJpn Both [are Pretty decent IMho !!! Get there before Greensman & saugmon Clear The shelves LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they coded out to be CMC Mags, and are recently made. Not bad either for the price since it's much cheaper than Verbs and SONYs on sale.

The officedepots Have always been Ricohjpn or Ritek as long as I've bought( bought a lot of Them) Them ! & As Far as I know They have'nt changed Oem manufacturers for these ? There is always the Kool- Aid acid test though Buy some Open a Pack Use dvd Indentifier if they Code out as something nasty Bring them back ! Tell'em Your Burner does'nt Like them or some Inconvenient Truth Y0u've made Up and get's your money back!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like having some RichoJpn's around for my son, who's not bad with his DVD's but is still a six year old...and, well, stuff happens when you're six.
The TY's and Verbies are for my backups!

I wouldn't mind trying some of the Ricoh's...not really interested in the Riteks though. I only buy +R, do you know if they are ther Ricoh's or Ritek's?

FWIW - Dvd Indentifier Identifies The DVD+R Officedepots as Ricohjpn Ro3's That's from a Tub I bought awhile Back and opened to run Through DVD Identifier ! Can't gaurantee That the ones on the shelf now are The same But Probably are Hope that Helps ????? & Thanks for The help on The Computer Front Locoeng !!!!!!!!!!!!Ciao

My free ten pack picked up two weeks ago coded out as Ritek R-05 disks, the +R variety if this is any help.

The office depot discs I've been getting for my daughter's use are all over the board in Riteks or Ricohjpn, but none of them have caused any playback problems nor any bad burns on my end.
The last 100 stack I bought about 2 months ago were Ritek +R P16 X16, the ones before were Ritek F-16 X16 +R. I still have 150 Ricohjpn R-03-004 +R X16. Sunday's sale @100 for $16, I'll be there. Just to replace all the ritek coasters I made with new pc trying to figure out the burning conflicts. The Riteks were not the problem and I sure as hell wasn't going to waste any TY T02s or Verbatims! LOL
Actually Best Buy had verbatim +R X16 50stacks for $13, only 2 or 3 weeks ago. I bought 2 of those beauties.

Exactly what i do, Ricoh's for the kids, TY & Verbs for me :)
..of course these days you're just as likely to get CMC Mag M01 instead of the Ricoh R03's, but many 100's later i can still confirm they work just as well.

Thanks LocoEng - More precise but Like I said unless They Changed Oem's it's Riteks or RicohJpn of various Mid codes as Mentioned per your Post , CdFreaks et:all ect... I look at Officedepot As Good Media to Burn Giveaways on Like for The kids , Grandkids ect ! No Their not Taiyo yudens or Verbatims But Still Decent media for My uses ,such as mentioned above ! & I understand that some people Swear By & other people swear At Ritek ! I suppose It's all it what Your particular Burner Likes ? Personally I've had Good luck With Ritek & Ricohjpn in Various Guises - Officedepot's , Maxell's Tdk 4Xdvd+R's ( Ricohjpns ) Would I choose Them over Taiyo Yuden Verbatim Or sony , Not if They were the same price as The Big name Brands But at the price-point of .16-.18 cents each yes I would for the raesons mentioned above and For The eternal Rule Of Dvd-Dom " You can't be To Rich,to Thin orhave to many Blank DVD's LOL!!!!!!! Bought 2, have so many blanks now my wife will kill me if she looks in my stash closet.LMAO Happy shopping.

Just bought some meself!! They didn't have that many left at my store.. DANG people get around fast. lol.
DVD+R = RicohJpn-R03-04 (item # 679-808)
DVD-R = RITEKF1 (item # 679-784)
Hope that helps someone. ;)
Both are MIT....
OH I got some CD-R's too!! $9.99 for 100!! :D

Suggestion, hide them behind these things in successive order.
1. Porn magazines,
2. A Mary Kay catalog with items circled in them for your wife.
3. An actual birthday/anniversary present for her already wrapped with a card on it with her name on it.
Works like a charm every time.

I stopped last night at Office Depot and they only had 4 packs of the DVD-Rs left. I opened one pack and they code out as Ritek Corp RITEKM16. Should I return them for DVD+Rs? Which are the better media?

I got the RITEKF1's and they are ok.... If you can get the Ricoh's (DVD+R) I would definitely consider those. ;) They seem to produce better burns/scans and that's what we all want!!! :) Since you already opened the first package you might give them a try. If you were able to "save" the plastic wrap then it's up to you. lol.
I like CMC MAG AM3, MCC 03RG20, TYG02, and TYG03 for DVD-R discs. Of course it's my opinion and I'm all that matters. hehehe. :) j/k...

I have to run out to Best Buy tonight and our Office Depot is in the same shopping mall so I'll return the 3 un-opened packs of DVD-Rs and see if they will give me either a Raincheck or ship the DVD+Rs from another store. Hopefully next week someone will have Verbs on sale. I'm down to less than 50!
