Hi folks ,
I have a tosiba Sd-R5372V which I have been using for over a year now with no problems untill now . It just stopped burnibg dvd's. After 34 secs it "burn failed" . I have updated the firmware, I have updated nero (was using 6 , well if it aint broke don't fix it)anyway now on Nero 8.I tried a simulation and it worked fine , popped a disc in and bang burn failed.
I only use ty media and after producing a few coasters I thought I would ask for help in this forum as I usually find an answer here from someone.
I have logged the report and every one says media code 003. BUT I have also enclosed another part of the log which shows what drives I have
=== Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral : WDC WD2500JB-00REA0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H42N atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : TOSHIBA CD/DVDW SDR5372V atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On
DiskPeripheral : MAXTOR STM3320820AS SiSRaid Port 2 ID 0 DMA: ?
as the data I am writing is from the Maxtor drive with a dma? could this be the problem. The other problem being my computer only recognises the drive as 148 gig when in fact it is 300gb. in disk management it is healthy at 298 but my computer shows 148gb It does seem to have only started failing after I reinstalled everyting.
Sorry to go on but I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions please

Is your Windows SP2? If not you will not see the full capacity of the drive.
There is a solution for this.

Download and install the software.
