i;m trying to deside if i should get a mod chip or a hard drive to mod my ps2 or is there an easier (and cheaper!!) way? some one also told me that using a big (about 6G depending on the game) flash dirve would work for playing the game.
also to play burnt ps1 games do i need to mod the ps2

for a start i think that hard drives are better although they have their drawbacks

and for ur info a ps2 game is 4gb MAX some games might be less than a single gb
with a harddrive you will be able to download games and put them str8 to your hd
also you will have much faster loading time
and you will preserve your ps2 lens
but you will need to buy hd-advance (i think)
this stuff is kinda rusty in my mind right now
drawbacks are that you will not be able to play ps1 games off the hd
but there might be a way to put a homebrew disc in the hd ,boot it to run a backup from your ps2 drive and by backup i mean ps1 game

if you had the money do the modchip then load the hd loader elf off a cd
then you can have both the hard drive and be able to play games off of the hard drive

The Best of Both Worlds

You Will Need To Do Both

1x Network Adaptor
1x Hard Drive
1x Modchip

And You Will Be One Happy Person if you do the above

no ,you can buy something called hd-advance which is capable of booting the hard drive with no need for a chip

But some of the newer games can not boot with HD ADVANCE 3.0
and only boot with a chip
