Ubuntu Problems Plz help?

I tried to install ubuntu on my laptop but for some reason when I boot my pc up on the live disc the program will run super slow and then freeze. I tried running it on my home desktop and it ran fine. I even tried to format my hard drive on my laptop and it still freezes when I tried to install it as my OS.

You probably don't have enough ram. Tell us how much is in there.

That's nothing like enough for ubuntu. It probably won't even install unless you enable swap before starting. http://cutecomputer.wordpress.com/2006/0...acy-pc-low-ram/

Try one of the smaller distros.. tiny-me sounds good (but is too heavy for a 300mhz machine with 90mb ram, as discovered today.. they system monitor hogs all the cpu time), and puppy4 is superb.
