Hi im new to this forum and i just ordered swap magic 3.6 with a flip top cover for my ps2 slim.
I was wondering how do i get my PAL game backups to run correctly on my NTSC PS2 and also how do i check if my games are PAL or not. Here are the games I am worried about:

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 Collector's Edition

Soul Calibur 3

Thank you for your time.

Hello and welcome to this forum!

To know if your game is PAL or NTSC you will need to know if the games serial code are either SCUS_XXX.XX or SLUS_XXX.XX for NTSC and SCES_XXX.XX or SLES_XXX.XX. (X=stands for the numeric value of the code ex. SLUS-202.10 or SLES_549.14) Japanese games are all NTSC but the codes may vary like SLPM, SLPS, SCAJ etc..

To see the serial you simply put the disc in your pc and browse the contents and it will be there as one of the filenames.
If you have a disc image or an ISO you can use ISOBUSTER to view its contents. Something more common you can use to browse inside an iso is winrar but it doesnt work with all image file types. Daemon tools and alcohol120 can be used aswell but since you have to mount the image first you are better off with isobuster.

To play PAL games on an NTSC ps2 you will need to patch it.

You can use either one. They work just about the same. Except PAL2NTSC Y fix gives you more control on the vertical offset. Useful, if you know how much offset you need.

BTW did you check your games if they are all PAL? I looked at had a looked at gamefaqs and Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 (Limited Edition) was release in US and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai III (Platinum) was for EUR. Just thought you should know.

I dont know. I have only patch only 2 PAL games before and honestly its not worth it. No matter how may times i adjust the offset i can never get a center to me that is satisfactory. It put me off so i just got the NTSC version instead.

And if you happen to scan the thread/link i gave you. You might have noticed it said that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai III and Soul Calibur III has a PAL(50hz)/NTSC(60hz) selector. So, you may not even need to patch these games at all. If you are unsure if your games does have a selector at all, try to test it with a PS2 emulator like pscx2 and see for yourself.
