Have a Compaq computer running XP Media Center. Having problems with an ATI All-in-Wonder X800. Card is pci Express X16. Have had this card in this same computer once before and it ran fine. Replaced the ATI card awhile back with an Nvida 8500GT pci Express. Ran fine. Missed the PVR for recording music videos off satellite. Tried installing the ATI card back in machine. Turn on computer there is no signal coming from card. Using a DVI cord to monitor. Have tried different DVI and VGA cords. Still no signal. Tried reseating video card. No signal. Even got in touch with ATI thinking something was wrong with card. Sent in old video card to be repaired. Got replacement card today. Installed in computer, same thing as before. No signal. Took out ATI card and put Nvida card in machine. Works fine. Anybody have any thoughts? I'm not sure what else to do. Would really like to get the ATI card working

You have plugged the power connector in right? The 8500GT won't need one but the X800 Pro will.

In any case, why did you change to an 8500? The X800 is probably a faster card.

Probably a driver conflict. Even when you remove some drivers parts are left behind and this can cause a problem.

First go to ATI website and download the latest drivers for your product, but don't install yet. Nextremove all of the Nvidia and ATI drivers and then go here and download a copy of driver cleaner. Run driver cleaner.

Check to make certain that your ATI card is properly seated and then install the new ATI drivers. Reboot and your ATI card should be recognized.

Thanks for your help. Ran the driver cleaner as suggested, but could'nt run new drivers with card installed being there is no picture on screen. Did get my problem fixed though. Just so you know. I have 3 computers. 2 computers are running same make and model 22" KDS monitors. Other computer has a new 22" HP monitor. The AIW X800 will not run on either KDS. Finally figured to try the HP monitor. Works fine on the HP. Can't understand about the KDS monitors. Working fine on the HP and does what I want to do. The PVR is perty nice for capturing music videos on satellite. Thanks again for your help

If your refresh rates are too high your monitor might not be able to carry an image.

That's the most likely cause. However, do those monitors take dual link DVI inputs? I don't see why they would at 22" but if they do, the X800 won't work because it isn't a dual link card. The 8500GT ironically is.
