ive just bought 2 identical 1gb pen drives (which are claimed to be usb 2.0) and one works great and the other is much slower for some reason.

i got 2.0 usb ports in my computer but just wondered is there a way to tell if a pen drive only supports usb 1.1 / 2.0 etc ?

They're probably just low speed memory. If it was USB1.1 you'd know about it, the performance of it is ridiculous compared to USB2.
