ok i am pretty sure this is on here a million times already, i have been searching for the last hour and i see all kinds of things about ftp'ing the new Nagr(something) files over using a null modem cable and crossover ethernet lead, or indeed just flashing a new image across with these files fixed in already

so sorry to mods for creating a new thread...but here is my problem

basically i have been manually inputting codes until now and was happy doing this and forgot to research for a permanent fix...until now that is

well now i have no experience of ftp'ing..nor do i have a null modem cable

i do however have a crossover ethernet cable and i am comfortable flashing the box

but...i am very happy with my current image, sportster, i like the bouqet editor and how i can set it up so that we get sports/kids/movies/music etc all seperate

what i need is either an image that can still do this and fix the code problem...or learn how to do the ftp

i have a x1 sagem d-box 2...

if you guys dont wanna post links to downloads here then my email is:

chadwick_stuart@yahoo.co.uk

either attach the file or send me the download link, thanx

PS. i have a copy of the image i currently have...i dont know if this is possible, but if 1 of you could edit that and add the new Nagr file to fix the codes that would be fantastic

Thanx in advance,

basically i have finally realised that i already had all the latest A/U fixes and latest A/U images there on my big maq and chatterbox cc toolbars

so i have just downloaded one of the latest images to flash to my box using a crassover ethernet cable...as i have no null modem cable as yet

now i had kein system error before and i beleive paul helped me to flash the box, and eventually i got there...but now i have upgraded both pc and laptop and both now have windows vista...and for some reason the box just will not flash now, i have no idea if vista is a problem...i know one or 2 other programs have to be ran as administrator to work properly, so i tried that and the initial error message didnt appear so i figured i was getting somewhere

most of the writing is german or very bad english and hard to understand, lol

anyway...i followed instructions, and i remembered paul told me that if it didnt work switching on and off at the wall could do it...and indeed thats what did it for me last time...but each time i did this the box would just boot up and load my current image as though it wasnt even being flashed

2-3 minutes go by and then there is a message on the IFA saying in Germ-english, lol, that it couldnt connect to d-box

its driving me crazy, please please someone help me

thats the problem, where do i get an english version?

that link looks very interesting...is that just using the crossover ethernet cable and not the null modem cable?

" 5. Now we need to open a ftp client i used FileZilla found in downloads in dbox folder

Along with all other files needed "

this is an extract of the site on that link...where exactly are these downloads?...i can get the files from the toolbars i have...but an english IFA i cannot find

please help

i am currently on this as we speak...following the instructions on the link...i tried it out with both an ethernet cable and an ethernet crossover cable(it didnt specify on the site which lead is needed but it mentioned ethernet so i tried it)

all the time all i could get was "limited connectivity" on my network, re entered the ip etc 5-6 times, tried ethernet and ethernet crossover and nothing.....

so i figured i would try to flash it with my new ENGLISH version of IFA...same again, wouldnt work...all of a sudden though whilst switching box off and on to try to get the IFA to work i got a proper netwrok connection.......so i went back to the filezilla ftp that this guide said to use and put in all the appropriate things and yet again it said unable to connect yet my network manager is saying i am connected

so i gave it up and decided i was gonna try and flash it 1 more time before consulting you fine bunch of clever people for more clues

and well guess what....IT WORKED...it flashed and i am now currently running a channel scan...LETS PRAY ALL IS GOOD !!!

i have a feeling though from looking around that this is gonna be a free to air image only...and then im gonna be right back at square 1

anyways, ordered the nullmodem cable from ebay, so hopefully i can make this easier in future.

thanx for the help guys, let you know how i go

ok guys, the flashing works and i am more than happy with the new image, nice black layout instead of the horrible blue from before, lol

all channels except just one that i can think of thats bbc3...but oh well...told the missus she will have to make sure she watches eastenders at 7 or whenever now cuz she wont get the re run at 10, LMAO

if anyone else is interested i used the Pacino TRILOGY 1x image...and its really good, well i like it anyway, im loving the black/grey layout
