This is something I haven't dealt with before... just burned a DVD ... used DVD Shrink to decrypt / shrink it and DVD Decrypter to burn the DVD and when I put it in my Sony DVD player this is the error I get. I am in north america .. what do I do?

Shrink should have been able to remove the region code and change to region 0.

1) Did you get a prompt to enter the correct region code ?

2) Is this a region 2 disc? (they are PAL) we are NTSC

Never got prompted anything ... these are DVD's that I previously owned that are now unplayable due to my two kids using them as frisbees (not literally) ... I got both of these movies from torrents which I have never done before and don't know a lot about. I burned both to disc and neither can be played on my DVD player .. only on my computer dvd rom using windows media player :/

Most torrents come as avi files. A divx dvdplayer can play a burnt dvd in avi. Otherwise it's

1) convert avi file to dvd compliant file (with something as winavi(pay for) or dvdflick (free, can get here at aD, just do a search)
2)burn dvd compliant file (eg Nero 6,7 but not 8) or convert dvd file to image file with shrink and burn with Imgburn (best burning engine IMHO). Imgburn free from www.imgburn.com
Note Imgburn will burn only image =iso files.

Good luck

Thanks for the response... the files I downloaded were DVD files ... VIDEO_TS/ *.IFO etc, and I converted them all to an ISO using shrink so confused as to why it isn't working. Dissapointing...

So if you converted the files to iso, then burn with Imgburn.
