I'm having trouble backing up a dual layer dvd released in USA 2000.
I'm new, I don't know what other info I need to present up front.
I'm having a couple of questions/problems:
1. I don't even know which of the many files produced to play, in order to view my backed up movie, or even test that I did it correctly.
My best guess is a large file created the looks like nameIassgned_comptest.avi, produced by AutoGK with input that looks like PGC1[01:47:05] produced by DVD Decrypter.
2. When I run it, it runs fast, and I get no sound.
I followed the directions on Elliot Beck's Page several times, actually, to the letter.
AutoGK ran over 5 hours, which seems like a bit, but my machine is an AMD Athlon 1.74GHz with 992 Meg of ram. essentially a 2Ghz box with a Gig of ram.
Anyway, I looked around this site for some time to see is my question(s) already answered somewhere, and since this is my first foray into ripping, it's all greek. Any patient peeps wanna introduce a noob, I'll be most appreciative.
So now that I have your attention, how do I turn off the subtitles, or do I need to rip it again without? Which I guess gets to a bigger more general question. Knowing that dvds have tons of objects, how do I play a dvd on my pc so that it looks like I'm playing on a dvd player hooked up to a tv?
In answer to your question, I just doubleclicked on it, and realplayer opens it. Since I have your helpful attention, what other programs can I use to view it on my pc? I'm sure they're already on this box-ful-o-warez, I just don't know what they are.
