So, I was siting here, playing Black and White (great game) when my Computer decides that m monitor doesn't exist - the monitor goes into standby (like when you switch off but leave the monitor on) but the audio keeps playing. I checked the connections between the monitor and the tower, and the power cable, but nothing seems to be wrong. So, I switch off.

Switch back on and the display is ****ed. Opened my Graphics Card software, which states my display is set to 800x600. So I change it back to what it should be, and the software crashes. So, I switch off again.

Switched it on again, and it just gets to the Windows logo when it restarts. Again. And again. So I switch off.

Now, when I switch on, one of two things happen.
One, if I start up with my external HDDs unplugged, absolutely nothing happens. The screen remains black, the computer makes no noise whatsoever.
Two, if I start with my external HDDs plugged in, it beeps at me (3 times) then just stays at the black screen.

Now, this is sounding to me rather like a virus (that's what I get for using Norton...)
But I thought I'd check with the computer-smart people of Afterdawn to see if it might be something else.

tl;dr - Computer borked. Help nao.

P.S. I wasn't sure where to post this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place!

Well, sounds like you need to reformat your hdd and
reinstall windows. If that does not work, make sure that
your video card works and your divers are up to date.

another possability is that important files may have somehow found their way onto your exteral storage devices if you have been installing programs
onto them, and windows may be looking for them and is not able to find them.
