Hi premepimp,
First of all, you are using an older version of HijackThis. Please do the following to download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:
CLICK HERE to download the HijackThis Installer:
1. Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
2. Double-click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
You may uninstall/delete the older version once you have successfully downloaded and installed the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2.
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
? Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
? At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
? If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
? Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
? When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
? Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
? When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
? Please post contents of that file in your next reply.
Now post back with a New HJT Log and log-date.txt..

Hey premepimp,
Well we picked up 1 Trojan and some other junk?.
Let?s see if there?s any more:
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop. DO NOT use yet.
Please download and install SUPERAntiSpyware Free
? Double-click SUPERAntiSypware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
? An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
? If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and unzip into the program's folder.)
? Under the "Configuration and Preferences", click the Preferences... button.
? Click the "General and Startup" tab, and under Start-up Options, make sure "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" box is unchecked.
? Click the "Scanning Control" tab, and under Scanner Options, make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
o Close browsers before scanning.
o Scan for tracking cookies.
o Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
? Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program.
? Do not run a scan just yet.
Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
? Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.
? Click the Empty Selected button.
? If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
? Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
? If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
? Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
? Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".
Scan with SUPERAntiSpyware as follows:
? Launch the program and back on the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
? On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
? On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan and click "Next".
? After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
? Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".
? A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
? If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally.
? To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
o Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
o If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
o Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
? Click Close to exit the program.
Reboot to Normal Mode
DNA.exe is installed at the time you install BitTorrent.
If you exit BitTorrent, DNA.exe will still be connected to the 'net and will be using your bandwidth to continue distributing files.
BitTorrent works fine with DNA.exe disabled / blocked by your firewall.
Run HijackThis and click "Do a system scan only." Place a check next to the following entries (if they are still there):
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [BitTorrent DNA] "C:\Program Files\BitTorrent_DNA\dna.exe"
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msjava.dll (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msjava.dll (file missing)
O9 - Extra button: MUSICMATCH MX Web Player - {d81ca86b-ef63-42af-bee3-4502d9a03c2d} - http://wwws.musicmatch.com/mmz/openWebRadio.html (file missing)
Now close all browser and other windows except for HijackThis, and click "Fix Checked" to have HijackThis fix the entries you checked.
Please post back with the SuperAntiSpyware Log and a fresh HJT Log..
And let me know if you have any problems..

Hey 2OG, I followed your instructions and ran HJT a second time after removing the entries you listed. Here's the new log and the SUPERAnti-Spyware log. Again, your help is much appreciated.

OK premepimp,
You?re Clean!
On your last run, SUPERAntiSpyware picked up a couple of Trojans from System Restore points and Temp Internet files. That?s why it?s wise to run ATF cleaner and SUPERAntiSpyware at least once a week if not sooner. That way you have more of a chance to stay clean.
If you are not having any problems, I guess that?s it??
Hope I helped.
Happy Surfing,
2OG

You're a prince. I never would have been able to get that crap off my system alone. Thanks for the walk-through and the advice. I'll be running those programs at least weekly.

Your welcome, premepimp. Never thought of myself as a prince but that makes it all worthwhile.
