before making these copies did you use a program to remove copy protection also it's a good idea to burn your dvd's at a speed of 8x for max compatiblility. Make sure your convert x is up to date, I use dvdfab hd decrypter free edition for doing the rips of actual discs adn convert x for all my video files have never had a problem but I do set the burn speed to 8x

Depending on the burner and the blank media, 6x to 8x is recommended.

General rule of thumb, burn at no more than half the rated speed of the blank media.

no because some of them work and others dont. or they work in some dvd players and not others. For instance i can burn three copies at a time.give one to my mother, one to my sister and one to my dad. my dads works fine my mom will only work on the dvdplayer in her bed room and my sisters wont play at all it only reads disc error

DVD -R's are normally widely accepted in most players.

If using the +R format, booktype to DVD-ROM for best compatibility.

Also some standalones can be picky period. Typically the more expensive players can be more finicky than the el cheapos.

The slower the burn the longer the laser has to write to the disk = less chance of any errors, you could burn @ 2x if you really wanted too ,i do & have done games & movies @ that speed & have yet to suffer any issues, that's more than 200 disks, all backups of my own stuff *angel smiley*
