Hey guys.

I am intending to venture in a business involving computer systems. My knowledge on this subject is far from perfect but I have solid people involved. I was wondering if you could help me in the Workshop side of the venture. Of course I will need things like different mobo based units to be used for testing components etc. I would appreciate your advice. I don't know if what I am asking is improper so if it is I apologize in advance.

I don't want to leave you hanging here.. What exactly are you interested in doing? You say mobo based units to test components.. Do you mean harddrives and such? I assume you'd like to start something like a PC repair shop?

If this is what you're wanting to do then I think your question is interesting.. You can really come a long way with some basic hardware and good computer skills, what you'd probably need is "an old computer" and a "new computer", since "most old hardware works in old computers" and likewise with new stuff and new computers.

I'd really just start taking customers and explain you're a new business and getting stuff going will take a while, then order the stuff you need to get the job done. This of course means you'll lose money at first, but you'll get a solid toolset to work with in the future.

Yeah I don't really understand what kind of tools you are talking about. But getting something like a power supply tester and a 20 dollar 100 piece screw driver set from The Home Depot will get you far.

Also make sure you have 100% STABLE computers to test parts on. Don't OC your test components lol.
