Hey, I got a strange question. My XBox was softmodded by a friend LONG ago, and I later had to unmod it, and re-mod it. I later installed a 750GB hard drive(Which you guys helped me do). But, recently, when I turn it on, when EvoX loads, it says the dvd tray is open, even when it's not. If I reboot it, it says "No Disc", like it should. And, every now and then, it kicks random errors. I do believe there's a short in my AV cable, but, that wouldn't cause the DVD tray to be listed as "open" on boot-up, would it? Any help would be appreciated.

This could be a couple of things, but first I would be suspicious of the ide cable.. it's the easiest to change.

If you have a philips dvd drive those are always suspect with problems like this.

Oh, and some FYI that may help someone to help me:

Xbox is a version 1.6
Was softmodded, and then the larger hard drive was installed.
Runs EvoX

New thing too...I re-aligned the disc tray, thinking maybe that was it, and now, if I boot the XBox, and open the tray, and then close it, it will say "No Disc" like it should. But if I go back to the dashboard(like from a game or something), it says "Open" again, until I reboot the xbox.
