First off,
how exactly did you burn the files to disc? (steps, speed etc.)
It could be that you got a bad image off line (this happens, trust me! it's not your fault)
Second,
What version ps2 do you have or what's the scph # on the back of the ps2?

easy way to load a ps1 backup in a ps2 is to put an origonal ps1 game in and at the splash (ps1 screen) swap it with the backup

The first thing you should do is try running the downloaded files in an emulator on your pc. That will tell you if they actually work ;) Your ps1 may not be playing them because they are wrong region.. which does happen.. or they are late series games which need a six wire stealth chip install..

PS1 chipping is a long time ago.

Ah, Neptune, i tried that swap on my v7 ps2 and it didn't work.
I use the swap trick that wizzdome came up with on my unmodded ps1 to play backups though. It's pretty neat.
Anyway, Marz13, does your lens get stuck at times playing backups?
I use Nero and Alcohol 120% to burn ps1 games and they work except for Tomb Raider 2, which i think is mod-protected.
Open Nero(startsmart), select cd, select burn image to disc, browse for the .cue file, choose speed 4x and burn.
You haven't been replying though, are you even reading these coz we are trying to help!
