i have a 2 week old zune and i was listening to music when it died. well, the battery died. the thing is tho that i had only been listening to music for about 6-8 hours, not no 25-30 hours like it should have been.

so what gives? is my zune broken?? does the fps have anything to do with this?

Battery life is going to vary based on whether you're listening to music, watching videos, etc.

Estimated battery life can be as accurate as estimated fuel mileage when buying a car.
