Parts Check/Power Supply Questions for New Builder

Hey,
I'm about to build my first computer, and I'm looking for a parts check, but definitely would love to hear any general advice. The systems going to be mostly used for 3d animation and video editing. The only part I have left to find is the power supply. Ive read a few guides but am completely confused about which one to go with. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be really grateful! My budget is just about reached but I think I've left enough for a power supply. Heres what I've got so far:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor - Retail (newegg - $210)
MOBO: ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail (newegg - $120)
MEMORY: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory - Retail (newegg - about $50 each) (Im buying 4 of these)
GRAPHICS CARD: FG GeForce 8800GT OC 512MB 256-bit 625MHz GDDR3 PCI-E 2.0 Dual DVI/HDTV+TV Out SLI Supported Video Card (buy.com - $130) (1 for the time being but possibly 2 with SLI in the future)
CASE: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail (newegg - $120)
I plan on having a few hdd's connected and two disk drives. Im a bit concerned about the graphics card. I looked into the quadro fx series but the cheaper ones got awful reviews. This one is OCed which I dont know what to think about, but its the cheapest 8800gt I could find.

the 8800GT will not suffice as the videocard; they are gaming cards. you must use a QuadroFX or FireGL workstation card to get proper rendering. and they come at a hefty price.
you'll need a high quality power supply, like the corsair 650TX. if you go for the top FireGL, you'll need the corsair 750TX.

Thanks for the tip Cee. I was originally gonna go with a low-end quadro fx, but heard the 8800gt would perform better; did some more research and the fireGL v3600 has some impressive benchmarks for its price, so I chose that one. I found a few slightly better prices than the ones listed, and the corsair 650tx for 75 bucks. The total price will be about 900 bucks, right about where I wanted it. My system as it stands now:

WHOA, DO NOT get that motherboard. It will give you hell.
Something like a GA-EP35-DS3R will perform MUCH better, not to mention it will be WAY more stable.

thanks for the heads up, someone else advised a p45 chipset, what do you think of the Foxconn P45A-S mobo?

I would recommend a P5Q Deluxe for a P45 board.
Although, to be honest, you DONT need it. The P35 board will OC VERY well, and the P45 really has the advantage on OCing the Q9450 because the Multi on the Q9450 and the Q9300 is low so it requires MUCH higher FSB.
Lucky for you the Q6600 has high Multi so you might as well get the cheaper board(GA-EP35-DS3R) and save your money. Also because the new Intel CPUs are coming out by the end of the year. They are TWICE as powerful at the same speed(2.66Ghz, and that is compared to a Q9450, which is ALREADY about 15% faster than a Q6600 at 2.66Ghz.).

The thing I don't like about that board is theres no firewire... Someone else reccomended this one: Intel BOXDP35DPM LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard they said if i wasnt gonna OC, intel brand was a good idea.

how did your firegl v3600 work out mate, i'm struggling to choose a graphics card for my build. I need the pc for similar work as you, 3ds max and autocad architecture.
