Hey everybody. I'll apologize ahead of time, as I lack a great deal of technological savvy; in fact I am likely closer to John McCain's level of knowledge than that of anyone currently browsing this forum. None-the-less, I'll do my best to describe the situation.

What I am attempting to do is connect my PS2 to the internet, through the wireless internet on my Mac computer. The physical setup involves a USB receiver that uses "Airport" to bring internet to my computer through a modem located in the office on the other end of the house. I then have an ethernet cable that connects my Mac to the PS2's network adapter. I have gone to "system preferences" -> "sharing" and turned on internet sharing between my connection to Airport and "Built-in Ethernet". After some messing around with manually reconfiguring the IP and DNS addresses for both Airport and Built-in Ethernet I have had some mixed results. A majority of the time I would get something like this:

Quote:
Airport (marked with a green dot): Airport is connected to the network WLCM2. You are connected to the internet via AirPort.

Built-in Ethernet (marked with a yellow dot): Built-in ethernet is currently active. Built-in ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet.
I am able to establish a connection with the PS2 through the network configuration on the game "Star Wars: Battlefront II". However, when I try to access the internet I get a DNAS error (-612) that says "There was no response from the DNS server. Please check your network configuration".

Essentially, I have no clue what I am doing. Any and all help is gladly welcomed...preferably in layman's terms because I am, like I said, a technological dope.

Thank you very much.
