I prefer VLC over any other media player and I am wondering if I can play my .tivo files on VLC without converting them first. When I used directshow dump, it made my videos very tall and skinny on VLC. Nero works but takes a lot longer and if I tried converting more than one file at a time, it was only successful on the first one.

I read that VLC does not actually use codecs so I am not sure if there is some plugin or addon that I could use to make VLC play the .tivo files. VLC even has directshow tab under open file. Surely there is some way to make it work.... And if not, does anyone know of another media player that is as user friendly and functional?
