Mercenaries patch help

I just copied Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction by rebuilding the image using Nero. Every time I try to load the game, it freezes at the loading screen. I use Swap Magic 3.6, and I know there are/were patches for ps2 games. Is there a WORKING link that can get me a patch for this anymore?

Do I have to rebuild drk-merc.iso because the image is like 4Gb, but the stuff on it is still around 2Gb.

I don't have the game, but as far as I know its either use the patch then just burn the iso
Or just rebuild it using the Xpert tool and then burn it.
You don't need to do both.

Ok, but I'm using Nero, Alcohol 120%, and Power ISO. they all failed; Nero and Alcohol stop in the middle, and Power ISO stops immediately. I'm also using DVD-R.

do a search on these forums,i am sure i posted a guide years ago,cant remember
I am pretty sure you need to use CD-DVD gen,and use the correct file order
you also may need to dummy out a couple of Pad files? i.e using notepad
might be wrong,as its been a long time,so i stand corrected if so

I just burned Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
4.37GB in size, with Imgburn at 4x on Sony DVD-R
I patched the ISO with memento disc patcher
It works perfectly with ESR 9a
If you want to rebuild with Nero.
Here is Hursty's guide.
When its extracted to folder its only like 1.88GB

ESR is an application that gives you the possibility to launch DVD discs patched to DVDV format on unmodded consoles
The thread is here along with the program elf and ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a
Also if you didn't want to swap discs with Swap Magic anymore, you can install to your memory card the Free Mcboot
Tutorial on how to install using Swap Magic
Tutorial on the new FMCB 1.6 and how to add elf applications to the install.
You must read every step if you are going to install fmcb.
Or you could just launch your ESR elf from the usb drive using your Swap Magic. Its up too you which you prefer to do.
