Hi
Was looking for some advice if possible. I have had my HDD Media Player for 18 months and until yesterday it worked fine. Seemingly my da pulled the plug out without turning it off and when I came back from work the media player would not switch on. The other weird things is that the plug is hot like it is working but the light doesn't come on the adaptor until I pull the connection out of the media player. Any advice would be really appreciated or if you could refer me to a PC Repair servcie that might be able to help would be great.
Regards
Candyp

If the light is on the power block and not the device itself, it turning off when the plug is attached to the drive suggests faulty drive circuitry.

Thanks for that, but I am bit blonde about stuff like this, are you talking about the circutry in the hard disk or in the adaptor itself. Again apologies for my inexperience!

It could really be any of them. A faulty component in the adaptor could mean that as soon as it provides load, it shorts out and shuts down, or, a faulty connector in the box for the hard disk could mean it shorts out when you plug it in, or the drive inside could be faulty so it draws more power than usual (least likely of the three, but still very possible)

Hi Sammorris
Thanks for your help, I might take a trip down to Peats afterwork and see if they have any adaptors and check that first.
Thanks
