Very annoying problem with "battle music lag" in Square Enix PS1 RPGs

As the thread title suggets, I have a very annoying problem when I play eboots of various PS1 RPGs.

As an FYI, here is my system specs:

3.90 M33 (but my problems also occurred on 3.71 M33-4)
Sony 1GB PSP MSPD
Lexar 2GB MSPD
PSP Slim Silver

On FFVIII and Valkyrie Profile, every time, without fail, before I enter a battle, I've had a slight but very noticeable "lag" in the music just as a random encounter occurs.

I make my eboots with simple popstation gui, and yet whether I compress my eboots to 9 or uncompressed, I still have the same problem.

I do have popsloader and I have tried different popsloader firmwares, but this seems to happen very frequently whenever I play a PS1 RPG on my PSP. Can someone give me some advice or help me out?? Thanks!!!

try a different pops maker it may be that gui isnt the best prog to use
