Can't Access Outbox in messaging. Nokia 6133

I have a Nokia 6133 that has 16 messages in my outbox folder. I get error message "Operation failed. Try again" when I try to open the folder. It's been this way for almost a year.

When this started happening, I constantly have seen the uploading arrow on my mini screen when the clamshell is closed.

Let me know if you know how to fix this or the cause.
