Sims 2 On macbook air???

HI I've ordered Sims 2 for mac and i have a macbook air with a superdrive and i was wondering do i need to keep the disc in to play the game if so is there a way i can play it without having the disc in and will it run on my macbook air??? Thanks in advance

This is what you need mate!

Inside this are 3 things, the Sims 2 1.0 for Mac v.E Update, The CD-Fixer to let you run the Sims 2 without the CD, and a small utility script I wrote. Install the update first, then run the Fixer. If the fixer immediately crashes, then it has to do with shared links with some libraries. Thats what the utility is for. just double click on that, and follow the instructions. Then rerun the Fixer - it works now? it should. Let me know if this helps you out there, I know its helped other people with the same issue.
(Note to mods: since this is a patch for a legally owned game that he needs help with, am i violating any rules? Ive checked rules and posted it on another mac forum site just fine, and i went through the rules here to verify. Let me know if i am violating rules and i will take the link down. I don't want to be banned, so I hope you can understand my seriousness in this. I am not promoting use of pirated material, nor linking pirated material.)

no i am sorry you need the no cd patch.
But you might be wasting your time anyways does the sims 2 even run nice on the macbook air because all the macbook air is is a mac mini with a smaller size lcd and keyboard.

That patch works. I use it when ever I want to play the Sims. What do you mean you can download it?

WHAT??? The macbook air is powerful enough to play the sims 2. You don't think a Mac Mini can handle a low processor intensive game like the sims. I am sorry... I am trying not to laugh right now!

Thanks for telling me the thing about the mac but what i mean by cant download is i copy the link in to my address bar hit enter and there is nothing on the page and nothing in my download stack???
But ill try it again today :)

Wait no that comes up with something comepletley different
Don't change the file extension on the URL or the completely downloaded file. When you open the .dmg file from your download stack you will have a Disk Image appear on your desktop with the patch!

But there is nothing in my downloads so when i go to the page normaly its just white and nothing happens, ill try it in another browser that might work

The page will appear white. The file will automatically download. The link is the link to the download mirror!

Ive just managed to download it i found a download manager plugin that wasnt supposed to be there thanks so much for your help, (On Ichat I have an AIM account)
