I need some help here, my brother's ds soon mine hes getting a lite, has a speaker problem i tried to clean out some chocolate which someone put into the speaker holes using a needle but what i think i done was maybe pierce the speaker foil a bit.... this was around january 07, the symptoms are when bassy sounds come on the righ speaker just starts crackling like crazy or this crrrrrrrrrrrrr noise until you blow into the holes which stops the horrible noise for a few minutes so ive been looking to replace the left speaker with no luck at finding the part or an instruction manual.. so in the end i just need some help to find the Speaker for the original DS and a guide on how to replace the speaker in a original DS.

Assuming DS Phat
1)xacto knife or pin - remove screw covers
2)Jeweler's screwdriver (phillips) remove 4 screws and unsnap upper housing
3)Unscrew wireless antenna board (right speaker) or transition board (left speaker)
4)Replace bad speaker
5)Assembly is a reverse of disassembly.

DS Phat speakers are relatively easy to find. I have about 20 lying around but they don't allow e-mail addys here.

Thanks for that, I managed to open it and yes the See through foil is pierced grrr i ended up ordering one of ebay for pretty cheap just 8au....
