I want to do a system recovery on my HP Vista system, there are several ways to do this and they all don't work. I have no Microsoft restore points or recovery disc but I have a partition drive which is set aside for recovery but when the computer reboots and I press f11 to access system recovery it just does nothing then restarts. Please help
Not to discount Ddp querie, but why don't you have disks? I know that they don't usually ship them with the computers anymore. But man you really should have those for these type of situations. You need to call HP and have them send you some.
Yeah I no man but it never came with the recovery discs and I never thought bout it, stupid I no & the model number ddp is Presario V6500 and the model num is KB364EA.
One would have to assume that the recovery partition contents have been deleted,if there's nothing visible you could unhide contents if still nothing there then you'll have to order a set of recovery discs from hp,better still buy a retail copy (not OEM or upgrade),that way you don't have to reinstall all the bundled crap hp supplies.
There is another option before the above, look thru the all programs list for "make recovery discs" or other such wording (refer to user manual) hp lets you make 1 set of recovery discs however you need to use good quality media once done use those,if they work (verification ain't that great) & you manage to reformat the comp, make a 2nd copy in case the first set go AWOL
Edit:If you need the comp working & don't want to use recovery disks in case they don't work due to data corruption (happened to me),but still want to reformat go get another hdd & use either of these
