Problem copying folder from internal hard drive to external

I have an iso file 6.32 gb which i am trying to copy from my internal hard drive (28gb free) to external hard drive (152gb free). But whenever i try to copy paste / cut paste, it tells me there is not enough space on disk. I dont understand the reason.
Btw the file is not copy protected either.

Any help will be appreciated!!

Hi Kvsingh,

More than likely your external is Fat32. And unfortunantly you can't move anything larger than 4gb on to it. However, you can reformat the drive to NTFS (backup before format though to save your stuff from being deleted). Do a right click on said drive and choose format select NTFS, should be default, check "Quick Format". Then you should have no problem transferring data to and from. Hope that helped.

Btw are there any downsides of NTFS format for external drive?

Your welcome Kvsingh,

Glad you got it figured out. I personally have several externals and haven't had any problems after switching them to NTFS. I also store large ISO's. However, which is better seems to be debateable in some circles. Here's a link for more info
