i have burnt several data disc in avi format... and i tried to access the disc to put it back onto my computer to fix it... it plays fine on my dvd player except there is no forward or backward fastforwarding or slow mo......

but i put the disc into my computer and it is asking me if i want to add data and what program i wanted to use... this is the disc that i have been watching on my divx dvd player... so there is data on it.. but it is not registering on my computer even though i burned the disc with this computer...

i used nero to add the data...

i have tested my drives for updates and it is saying that they are up to date....

i think there is something missing though.. there has to be...

i tried to extract the data from the disc using another program but every program i use says that there is no data on the disc...

sucks because there is only one that is messed up out of 24 and i can not fix it...

please help if you can

nexxtech 16x 4.7 gb rw dvd+r

yes they are legal...

i have burnt several data disc and dvds with my dvd burner...

but i think it is just these discs.. i lost the thing to download the firmware or whatever to update it... i am trying to email them... no reply yet... i will call tomorrow.. but this is just in case...

your help would be greatly appreciated...

i have read that there have been several issues with these discs.. 7.00 for 50 should have assumed something was wrong...

i just do not want to lose the data because i took the time to resize the videos and stuff to ratio as well as mb... would suck if everything all my work was lost...

so i called them and the dude that i spoke with is saying that it is my computer not burning them right. i told him that i had another brand of disc and that i used that to burn the same project.. and that when i stuck the disc in it read it and then i continued to ask him why their discs were not working.

i could not understand him well... so i listened and he continued to say that it was my computer that was not burning it right

though i told him that i burned it and it works in my divx player but when i put it back into my computer it does not read or write it...

a screen pops up asking me if i want to burn the disc or play the disc.... no matter what i hit it says disc error and it then says that the disc is unreadable...

i will call up again and ask for someone i can understand... and someone that understands what i am saying as well

What dvd-rw drive/s do you have? Brand name/model#/and current firmware version. The link to the following program is free, and it'll answer those questions,if you can get the drive to recognize a backup copy or blank nextech.

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_..._identifier.cfm

Also locate the MID code (Manufacturer's ID) on the nexxtech discs.Dvd identifier will tell you that MID code. I've never messed with them. . Locate the MID code from some backups of the other brands of media you have used in the past.Post them as well.

How fast did you burn them? On lower quality media,I keep it at 4x.

A firmware update may be needed on your burner/s to help them properly burn the new discs.Any dvd drive can be picky on certain media.

ALL the Nexxtech media I have seen are Made In China. I personally would not buy them at any price. My opinion only. Media is one thing from China I refuse to trust.
I have no facts to say they are "crap" but I do know some people that tried them & had lot's of "issues" with them & returned them to Circuit City.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.
