Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 and was seeing it I can upgrade my current Am 64 Athlonx2 processor to a Turion one?

Are you sure you have an Athlon64 X2 in there? I was under the impression all AMD laptop chips had the 'Turion' branding. Run CPUZ on your system and post us the CPU information page:
