Please Help! DVD Region Problem! Region 2 to Region 1

Hi, everyone. I am at the end of my rope here. I just moved to the States from the UK. Before I left, I received some DVD box sets as a gift. Needless to say, they are Region 2 DVDs and will not play here in America.

A friend of mine suggested using DVD Decrypter to rip the DVDs. They claimed DVD Decrypter would remove the region code on the DVDs. Needless to say, he was wrong. It didn't work for me. Unless I did something wrong. Which is very possible.

It seems I've tried everything: DVD Shrink, AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, DVDFab. No matter what program I use, my burned DVDs remain unplayable. My DVD player won't recognize them as Region 1 DVDs. I am using Nero to burn them, by the way. And I am playing my DVDs on a Sony PS2.

I am desperate. Has anyone here attempted to do what I am doing? Has anyone been successful? If so, PLEASE post a step-by-step of what I should do. Thanks a lot!

Most likely it's not the region code that's giving you the problem but the NTSC/Pal difference. The easiest way to overcome this is to purchase a new player that supports both.
