I am looking at a CycloDS or the M3 card that has a expansion pack to play GBA games, is it worth it to play GBA games or best just to stick with the NDS games and a CycloDS.

i can assure you these links are the cheapest your going to find on the m3 real and i can vouch for the websites credibility

(this one is the best value "M3 DS Real Deluxe" and if you intend to use the ds browser for internet you'll need the gba pack)(Plus playing gba games is cool to.)

M3 DS Real Deluxe MicroSD/TF Cart for NDS/NDS Lite (with Rumble + 256M Pack + Translucent Shells)
Price: $44.90
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14165

M3 Real with USB TF Card Reader and Rumble Pack
Price: $29.60
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2728

all i can say is the gba pack is worth it
good luck and have fun

this card supports micro sdhc

a 4gb should be enough for all of your roms and music videos ect

seeing as games are around 25mb

pretty simple to setup

you just make folders on the root of the memory stick

NDS (for Ds roms)
GBA (FOR Gba Roms)

then you download the system file from the website
http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html

and the other stuff

this card supports autopatching for homebrew
and it has a built in cheat device

you can place homebrew anywhere on the card it works best if you leave it on the root of them memory stick

i have all homebrew in a folder names Homebrew

and you can run emulators for original gb games and for snes nes ect

there are other flash cards but i cant vouch for them alot of them are cheaply made and can even short out your ds making it into a nice little $130.00 brick

i know the m3 real is a good product and i use it everyday

alot of people will suggest r4 but its old an oudated and it has alot of piracy with it
(not talking about games but the actual flash cards people make fakes ones and in november r4 will make firmware to break your ds if its using a fake r4 card)

there are other cards another acceptable alternative would be supercard but i cant vouch for them

the links i posted is the best value your going to get on the m3 real
i bought mine from another site for 66$ then i found this a week later

deal extreme is a good site and i can vouch from them with 6 very fast orders from them most of my stuff comes in 1 week 1 took 3 weeks

if you need more assistance or have questions just post back in this thread and ill help you

hi IsaacBomb,

Thanks for the very informative post. I have decided to get the ds real deluxe at http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14165. I am trying to pick out a micro schc card. I found this one at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211270.

I did notice you stated most games are 25 mb, but what about movies? for a feature lenghth movies wouldn't a 8 gb be better? Thanks so much again for the site recomendation. Any better suggestions on a micro sc card?

im not to sure about the quality of a-data cards. i purchased a sandisk 4gb micro sdhc with sd adapter and micro mate card reader from staples. and it works great. another good card i have heard about is kingston the ones made in japan. i dont put movies much on my ds but id say 30min. of video takes up i think about 125mb so 3-4 99min videos would take about 2&1/2gb you should have enough room for all your gba, nds, music, and movies. if you can afford an 8 gb you wouldnt need to worry about space.

I have tried searching this, but can't find a direct answer. (bad searcher maybe=) when playing GBA roms is it an emulator that must be used? Or does the gba rom play directly though the m3? I am trying to decide if the super card DS one is a better route because I like the interface better and it seems to get better reviews, but if I have to load an emulator in order to get GBA games to load onto the DS I would think they might run slower compared to directly loading through the M3 Real.

all the cards are running gba emulators there just built into the cards them selves

but the gba expansion pack provides the ram needed for the game the gba game is loaded into the gba expansion packs memory like in a normal gba game

so its no slowdown i have no problems playing my gba games on my m3real

and it has its own menu for gba games you just tap and go

the gba games is the one with the gba system on it =D

=d

plus with the supercard ds one youd would have to buy this to get gba support

18.99

here are some pros and cons of the ezflash posted in the reviews
Quote:
Pros: - Has three functions which takes out the hassle of switching three different slot-2 devices.
- Plays GBA ROMs at expected speed.
- Great price.
- Provides more RAM than the official one

Cons: - Not the perfect size.
- Does not come with instructions because it is not officially supposed to be used with non-EZ Flash V flash carts so internet tutorials are needed.
- Rumble is a little loud.
- Requires 3rd party software (GBA Exploader).

Other Thoughts: Make sure you research this item before buying!

Pros: Great price.
Boxing is nice.
Seems like good quality plastic.
Sits flush into the ndsl.
Has 3 functions: GBA, rumble, expansion
Matches color of ds.
Works with R4.

Cons: Coating is not the same as NDS. It's missing the glossy effect.
No manual. GUI is not that friendly.
Requires a bit of patching and loading to use. You must hunt for the software.
Game saving can be annoying.
The rumble is weak and noisy.

Other Thoughts: Wish slot-1 cart would automatically support this slot-2 device. SRAM battery will eventually die out. I bought this for my neices. They like it a lot.

you would just be better off with the m3real bundle because the gba pack has perfect compatibility with the m3 real and you dont have to worry about rom patching and

hunt for the software.

and btw if you live near a staples there selling 4gb micro sdhc cards for 30$ plus tax the m3 real comes with a card reader but its not that good so you might want to check this link out and browse for a better card reader i suggest this one just because it looks nice(btw im ordering this one now)
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6681

but look around and look for one that you think would be right for you
http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/sea...20card%20reader

the m3 real is really the perfect all in 1 solution
