I have a Dell Dimmension 2400 running Windows XP. After reformatting the hard drive and re-installing Windows XP, a number of things were not working. When I went into device manager, it said that the ethernet, audio, video, and BUS controller drivers were not installed. How do I find what drivers I need?
try going here to dells web site and going to the help and support and then it will ask you for your service tag then it should put up the drivers and manual and all reivent system infomation.
Edit: putting the model number in should bring you to the ones you need,it worked for my old gx110,if like mine there's more than 1 type you'll need to find out if yours is a tower ,mini or whatever,the type & shape of motherboard should give you a clue including the case as it will match the drawing at the dell site,again assuming you strike more than 1 model
BUS = USB drivers
Ethernet =LAN or VIA Rhine II.....
Audio & video should be self explanatory,they'll say sound driver & video driver or they'll be combined
@scorpNZ

use your service tag from the back of your computer and enter the service tag on dells site and all the driver will be on that page had a dell before thats how i did it.
