I will start off by apologizing Ididn't know exactly the appropriate place to post this and again I apologize for inundating you with what might be too much information but I never know how much is too much and like to try and answer questions in advance so people can give informed opinions I have a Compaq Presario 7469 PC with an AMD 500 CPU O/S 98SE I have the ESS Allegro-1 Device Manager , DOS Manager and PCI Audio Drive I have My Volume Control and Volumes are all High with nothing Muted When I go into my Control Panel>System>Sound Video and Game Controllers all of the files appear When I double-click on the device Manager it tells me that the device is working properly When I click on resources it says interrupt request 05 and input/output range 1000-10FF and there is no conflicts I did a web search for No Sound From Speakers 98SE and found this link http://www.the-it-mercenary.com/forums/Help/posts/391.html I did as it suggested and deleted the device Manager and its components and re-booted and when it was updating drivers it said device not detected I also tried going to Compaq/HP site and re-downloading driver and it downloaded fine Bit when it was tranferring files and updating it just kept going forever I re-booted and Ess Allegro Files are where they are supposed to be and Still No Sound The Speakers are plugged in and connected correctly and appear to be working fine When you turn the volume up they hum like normal Any Ideas You can offer would be greatly Appreciated Thanks in advance Patrick
