I have the OGGCodecs by Illlminable installed which is supposed to handle FLAC format audio files.

On a hard drive I have some FLAC files that play fine. I listen to them all the time without problem. Some other, less played FLAC files for some reason do not play in Windows Media Player. I just get the "Codec Required" error and they don't play. But when I check their properties they have the FLAC file extension.

Any idea why I'm able to play some FLAC files on not others when they all appear to be the same format?

Thanks!

Flac files can be really picky about having the tags filled.. the ones that don't want to know.. i usually convert them to flac and fill in the tags. You should get the proper flac codec.
