Ok, I need some kind of patch to run the ISO.
I have Fastloader as my emulator...do I need to find another emulator.

Note!!!! I could play the ISO without UMD by going to Recovery=>Configuration and setting it to Sony****/without UMD and works fine,BUT I'm setting my friend up and don't wanna give him instructions like this and then he messes the whole thing up

well you dont even need a emulator to begin with...
you could just place the iso inside the iso folder of your psp...
as long as you have custom firmware...
and to set it umd mode, all you have to do is press select or home depending on which CFW you have and a little Iso menu will appear, and from there you can pick if you want the Sony, Or OE etc..
and no you dont need a patch...

Its me and im here...so yea thats all i wanted to say

if you do go the eboot way with the ps1 be careful when searching... I'd say the only real safe eboot ps1 games are found on torrent websites...

yea but some torrents come with a bad eboot...
but its pretty rare to find a bad one, ive only found one bad one so far...but the rest work pretty good...
and like radiata said, ps1 games come as eboot file...
and this is how you would put it in your psp...

ms0:/PSP/GAME/Spyro/eboot.pbp

im only using spyro as an example...

oh and if your gonna play ps1 games, you might need a popsloader for some games...
you dont reallly need that much though, i think...
because ive only used it on one game
