I've got Swap Magic 3.6 and for 90+ % of the games it works just fine. Until today it had only not worked with my guitar hero 2 copy. (versions 1 and 3 of guitar hero work fine). Today I tried to copy the Aerosmith version and I got the same result as version 2. I run through the swap magic utility but when it starts reading the disk, the laser goes to the outer edge of the disk and stays there. The disk remains spinning as if it is trying to read the disk, but it never advances past that stage. I re-burned both disks on Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's at 1x on dvd decrypter with the same results. Is there a way to fix this or is it something I just have to live with?

your best bet would be to exploit your ps2 instead of using swap magic. plus you can do alot more than just play backups such as play snes or sega with emulators

I am looking for any way to play games of the external hard drive. I have the drive and Swap magic 3.6 dvd rom (I misplaced the cd version) and I have tried many ways using usbadvance and usbextreme, but I can never get it to move past the swap magic load screen. The tutorials say that it should just load to the usb advance screen.

I reformatted the drive and then formatted with usbextreme. Currently on the hard drive I have a SWAPMAGIC folder and in that I have the 3 files that would be burned on the cd from USBadvance, with the .elf file renamed to SWAPMAGIC.elf. I have the game that I loaded on with usbextreme. When i put the swapmagic disk in it just loads to the normal swap magic screen. Is there a way to just get the USB advance to load off the swap magic disks? If there is an easier way to get this to work with the swap magic disk and an external drive please let me know.
