hey guys... heres my story for the day...

I went to my friends house who has a modded slimline ps2 and a ulaunch elf cd... I bought my unmodded ps2 to his house. I installed Free Mcboot on his ps2 since his ps2 is modded and read backup games and burned applications.. like ulaunch and codebreaker... I installed the Free Mcboot 1.5 on his ps2 on my formatted memory card and installed successfully. i even tried it out on his ps2 and loaded the free mcboot installed on my memory card successfully. Now when I inserted the memory card in to my unmodded ps2 and all i can see is black screen.. nothing happens... I let it load for about 30 minutes and still nothing happens? what should I do? im so jealous that when i inserted the memory card to my friends slim ps2 (modded) it loads for about 2 minutes? any idea of what i have done wrong? by the way I installed the multi-version installer.

P.S .

much appreciated for your help

What it sounds like to me is that you need a boot.elf file on your memory card. I'd recommend you download either uLaunchElf or HD Loader, rename the .elf file to BOOT.ELF (all caps) and place it in the /boot/ directory of your memory card, or in the created directory on a USB flash drive plugged into the USB port of your PS2. If you have the old fat PS2 with a network adapter and hard drive like I do, you can have a lot of fun with it, you can do the same if you have a slimline ps2 and a properly formatted usb hard drive. It does take a little while to load, sometimes I've found that opening/closing the CD/DVD tray works to speed up loading(from the HD on the fat PS2 anyway, or at least it seems that way.) I just installed it last night, so i'm new to this, been using the independence exploit prior to mcboot, hell, just got mcboot working about an hour ago.. but these are my observations so far.

It seems that you did not get my point clearly... I installed Free MCBoot on my memory card on my friends slimline PS2 which is modded so it can run the applications i need to install the mcboot on my memory card.. after installing I tested it on his ps2 slimline (modded) it works with no problem at.. I remove the memory card on his ps2 modded and inserted it to my fat UNMODDED PS2... now when i turned on my unmodded ps2 with the mem. card free mcboot installed and inserted... all i get is black screen.. nothing happends? what should i do?

Did you make sure you installed the multi version or whatever its called I cant remember but it sounds like you just installed regular freemcboot and when you do that it only works on the original ps2 that it was installed on. It has to do with the mc id. Try to reinstall it again then look when you get to the install screen there should be two options use the second one and you should be good to go.
I have put it on three ps2's so far no probs.
