Hi

I play avi files on my DVD player. I got it for a bargain £17 from tesco. I just got a Dual layer pioneer burner. My question is: Will my standalone DVD player play dual layer disks with AVI files if it plays single layer ones with AVI with no problems.

or are there likely to be things going wrong?

with single layer DVD playing AVI it occasionally goes out of sync, (ut i can't argue at £17 for the player.)

Are Dual layer likely to be compatible?

You said your player plays avi files form disc (DivX certified). Then it ill play fine even form DVD DL. DVD DL doesn't make any difference. Although you can help with compatibility issues by booktyping to DVD-ROM.
