you guys here at afterdawn do amazing things with hijack this. the only question i have is how do you know whats safe and whats not safe on it? i always wanted to know how you guys decide between them.
and then we know pretty well what should and shouldn't be running.. HJT even has some sites which will scan a log for you and point out nasties based on a users database of applications and files.
Of course only people who insist on using mickey mouse OS from a certain well known vendor of crap will ever need the services of all these other programs and services.. me? I just run bastille and tripwire and my important files have a checksum stashed elsewhere on my machine so I know if anybody has been tampering. Not that they have much chance.. only things I make executable can run.. nothing from outside has those rights.
