Hello there. Just got a new laptop, and have installed bitcomet. A few other things i have downloaded today, antivirus software etc downloaded at like 200 kb, but i went to download a 700 mb file on bitcomet, which had about 200 seeds and 80 leechers, started downloading but only got to about 9/kb. Have tried a few different files but still the same.

Can anyone please give me some advice with this?

Could be you are behind a router that need's port forwarding and maybe a static ip address, firewall you haven't allowed BC through, modem with firewall, an ISP that throttles, some here and there are more: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs Use Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 and a port over 10,000 that isn't the default. Unless you connect to all those seeds and peers, you can't download from them and you won't connect to all of them. See if this firewall jpg is any help too: http://www.plucky.org/component/option,c...le,torrent.jpg/ And use PeerGuardian or its beta for Vista when downloading/uploading with BC.
